I can not see ever banning the publication of a book. I can see not having things that are not age appropriate in a school library, not a college library though, where presumably everyone is over 18 and certainly never banning from a public library. That defeats the whole purpose of a public library.
At our library they have clearly designated childrens and adults sections, so the whole crud about "Oh! Won't somebody please think of the children!" doesn't really fly.
